Thank You Truckers! Celebrating National Truck Driver Appreciation Week 2022

This year’s National Truck Driver Appreciation Week runs from September 11-17th. For the 3.6 million professional men and women who deliver products and other goods in a safe and timely manner, this week celebrates all their hard work and dedication to one of the most demanding and important jobs out there.

Not only are truck drivers vital to our company, but they are the backbone to our entire economy:

  • Over 7 million people are employed in the trucking industry.
  • The trucking industry generates over $680 billion in revenue each year, and makes up for 5% of America's GDP.
  • Truck drivers deliver over 10 billion tons of freight every year. That makes up about 70% of all the freight moved in the U.S.
  • More than 80% of U.S. communities depend solely on trucking for their delivery of goods and commodities.
  • 90% of the food Americans eat is hauled by refrigerated trucks

Without truck drivers, then we wouldn't have necessities like food, gasoline, manufacturing products, and money to get us through our everyday lives. In short, without the trucking industry, America would come to a grinding halt.

We at U.S. Cargo Control want to personally thank all the truck drivers out there that help make us who we are today by sharing photos expressing our gratitude -- this one's for you, truckers!

How to Celebrate Truck Driver Appreciation Week

There are so many ways in which you can show your appreciation. Even the smallest gesture goes a long way, so reach out to any truck driver and show your appreciation in the following ways:

  1. Buy Them Lunch

Pay it forward by purchasing a meal for truck drivers whether it be at a restaurant, drive-thru line, or gas station.

  2. Give Them Gift Cards or Gift Certificates

If buying meals isn't the deal, then maybe send them off with a nice gift card or gift certificate they can use for food, gas,

  3. Get Crafty with Signage

Make some road signs showing your appreciation for our truck drivers for safely delivering our goods and services each and every day.

  4. Donate to a Trucking Cause

Find a charity that supports a trucker cause to donate to. Such charities to support include: TruckersFinaleMile.org, Meals for 18 Wheels, St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund, and Truckers Against Trafficking.

  5. Deliver Care Packages

Leave care packages for truck drivers filled with food, beverages, and other portable items they can use while on the road.

We encourage everyone to take a moment and be thankful for all the hard work truck drivers put in to make sure our economy is running smoothly.

From all of us at U.S. Cargo Control, we want to say: Thank You Truck Drivers!
