Cam Buckle Tie Down Straps
Our cam straps are a versatile load securement solution for light-duty cargo. This strap is the easiest strap to use for securing your items, and you can tie it faster than ratchet straps.
Cam Strap Construction
Made from an abrasion-resistant polyester, they can effortlessly handle the demands of the road. The webbing has low elongation to prevent load shifting, and it is water- and UV-resistant for superior performance.
The tensioning device is known as a cam buckle. Made of metal, it has a small spring and teeth that hook into the webbing for a secure grip.
We carry 1 inch cam buckle straps and 2 inch cam buckle straps with a variety of different end fittings. These straps contain different working load limits, ranging from 166 pounds to 1,000 pounds. Whatever the limit is, make sure you check the weight of your load so you can use the cam buckle for the best practices.
How to Use Cam Buckle Straps
To use the cam strap, you first depress the buckle and pull the webbing up through the cambuckle. You then tighten the strap by pulling the loose end, adjusting the webbing to the exact tension you need. The cam buckle teeth then lock down on the webbing, keeping it in place.
Cam Straps vs. Ratchet Straps
Cam straps and ratchet straps are both popular tie downs in the trucking and transportation industry. So why would you choose this style over another?
Cam buckle tie downs are faster to use. Thanks to the streamlined design, all you have to do to add tension is pull the loose strap end until it's tight, then lock it in place with the cam buckle. Ratchets take longer to tighten.
Another benefit is that the tension in these straps relies entirely on user strength. This makes it harder to over-tighten, something that can damage more fragile cargo.
