Our Stainless Steel Thimbles are type 304, which is the most common grade for stainless steel products. Highly resistant to corrosion, the chromium element forms a passive layer of corrosion on the surface which does not accelerate to the core. These properties make stainless thimbles a popular choice for marine rigging and other highly corrosive environments.
Heavy duty thimbles are inserted into the terminated end of wire rope that forms a loop or eye to protect the wire rope from deformation and degradation from direct contact to other hardware, thereby extending the life of your wire rope.
