Sleeves & Stops
Wire Rope Sleeves & Stops
Wire rope accessories used to terminate the ends of wire rope and cable include wire rope ferrules, wire rope stops, and swage balls.
Most of these products can be hand-swaged using a crimping tool instead of a hydraulic press, which saves time and effort on the job.
Wire Rope Ferrules
Our oval or duplex wire rope sleeves are used on to make eyes on the end of a wire rope sling or steel cable.
These ferrules are available in a variety of materials, so it's easy to find the right fit for your application.
Aluminum and copper are the most budget-friendly choices, but should be used in indoor applications only. The copper is available with zinc-plating to prevent rust.
Note: Aluminum sleeves should not be used with stainless steel cable, as the aluminum could corrode and weaken your assembly.
For more heavy-duty applications, choose stainless steel ferrules. They can be used indoors and outdoors, and the 316 steel construction is highly resistant to corrosion.

Wire Rope Stops
A wire rope stop may be placed anywhere on the steel cable but is primarily used at the ends to keep the wire rope from fraying. These are made from aluminum, meaning they should also not be used on stainless steel wire rope.
Ball Swages
Ball swages - available in plain, single shank, and double shank styles - are generally used as a catch point to prevent the wire rope from slipping / being pulled through a hole or other opening.
All are constructed from marine-grade type 316 stainless steel for superior corrosion-resistance.
