Class 2 Self-Retracting Lifelines
For fall protection in environments where overhead anchorage points are not always possible, our class 2 leading edge self-retracting lifelines are the ideal solution. These lifelines are designed for anchorage connections that can be at, above, or up to 5 feet below the user’s dorsal D-ring, ensuring safety even in more complex work setups.
All leading edge self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) fall into this class, providing extra security when working near sharp edges or unprotected sides.
Class 2 ANSI Requirements
To ensure our leading edge self-retracting lifelines can protect your team when it's most important, class 2 SRLs are required to undergo vigorous testing.
Along with performance threshold requirements for maximum arrest force, average arrest force, arrest distance, and static load capacities, this class has additional criteria they must meet:
- An energy absorber on the lifeline is required (excluding SRL-P devices where the device attaches to the dorsal D-rings instead of an anchor point).
- Synthetic lifelines must have a minimum tensile breaking strength of 5,000 lbs.
- They must pass a dynamic test over an edge with 310 pound weight.
Safe, Reliable Fall Protection
Our class 2 leading edge SRLs are designed to meet the stringent ANSI standards for fall protection. Whether you’re working on rooftops, scaffolding, or construction sites, they offer the flexibility and safety features you need to work confidently at height.
