Adjustable Lifting Chains and Slings
Adjustable chain lifting slings look similar to traditional lifting slings, as they're comprised of one, two, three, or four legs of chain with a hook at each end and a master oblong at the top. However, an adjustable sling features additional shortener fittings that are attached to the master link. These allow the operator to adjust the length of the chain legs as needed, without compromising lifting strength and working load limit.
Choosing Leg Count
Single leg adjustable slings - can be used for load securing and pulling. They should be used with vertical hitches in a lift and have a 90-degree angle of lift. WLL ranges from 4,300 lbs. to 35,300 lbs.
2 leg adjustable slings - can be used at a 60, 45, or 30-degree angle of lift and WLL ranging from 4,300 lbs. to 61,000 lbs.
3 leg adjustable slings - can be used at a 60, 45, or 30-degree angle of lift and WLL ranging from 6,400 lbs. to 91,700 lbs.
4 leg adjustable slings - has the most legs possible on a single sling and can be used at a 60, 45, or 30-degree angle of lift. WLL ranges from 6,400 lbs. to 91,700 lbs.
Adjustable Slings by Brand
We offer two trusted brands of adjustable chain slings for you to choose from: Crosby and KWB. Both are made using durable alloy steel chain that's 25% stronger than grade 80 alloy chain. However, there are differences in both design, fitting hardware, and manufacturing origin.
Crosby Adjustable Slings
Crosby has been a leader in the rigging and lifting industry for years and takes no shortcuts when it comes to manufacturing chain and rigging hardware. Crosby chain slings are manufactured right here in the USA and expertly assembled by US Cargo Control.
Crosby"s line of adjustable chain slings feature the Crosby Eliminator, a revolutionary adjustable length chain sling fitting that literally eliminates the need for certain components in adjustable slings, which have been traditionally required. Other benefits of the Crosby Eliminator include a hinged design that prevents bending against a curved object and a wider and longer bail.
KWB Adjustable Slings
KWB adjustable chain sling components are manufactured in Europe and expertly assembled into the high-quality adjustable chain slings you see here. KWB Grade 100 chain is easy to spot as it has a a signal violet varnish coat and a heavy powder coating that helps with corrosion resistance.
KWB adjustable chain slings feature a built in shortener attached right to the master link. They have the traditional design and components that many are used to in the rigging industry.
Proof Testing
Proof testing has been done on every link of chain to ensure its working load limit. To get your custom chain sling tested at the time of manufacture, it must be requested when the order is placed with our sales specialists. For an additional fee, we will proof test your sling and issue a certificate when requested at the time the order is placed.
All of our chain meets or exceeds the latest guidelines of the National Association of Chain Manufacturers (NACM), ANSI B30.9 standards and OSHA specifications.
