Van Beest Green Pin® shackles are European-made, high-quality, and meet or exceed industry standards. Each Van Beest shackle is marked with its steel grade and a traceability code. The G-4153 line meets performance requirements of US federal specification RR-C-271 Type IVB Class 3, Grade A. Chain or D shackles are terms that are often used interchangeably. The term dee shackle refers to the "D" shape design. A chain shackle is narrower than anchor or bow shackles. The smaller loop on dee shackles is designed to take high, in-line loads. For loads requiring a wider loop, it is recommended to use anchor shackles. Bolt type shackles are generally used in heavy-duty securement applications where the connection is long-term or permanent. Green Pin® bolt type shackles are also typically used in applications where the risk of a load sliding on the pin may occur, causing unsafe rotation. Bolt type pin shackles can also be referred to as safety anchor shackles or safety bolts due to the bolt/nut/cotter pin combination. The bow and pin on these Green Pin® chain shackles are high tensile steel, Grade 6, quenched and tempered. A hot-dipped galvanized finish provides extra durability against scratches and dings. They maintain 100% of their WLL in temperatures ranging from -4°F to 392°F. In addition to our Van Beest shackles, we offer Crosby® shackles, and a large variety of shackles domestically from Chicago Hardware. We also offer affordable import options. If you have any questions about which Green Pin® shackles are right for your application, or if you don't see what you're looking for, give us a call.
