Eye and Eye Turnbuckles
Eye & eye turnbuckles are one of the most common turnbuckle options. The closed eye connection point offers the most secure attachment, as well as a higher working load limit than hook & hook or hook & eye turnbuckles.
NOTE: Turnbuckles are recommended for straight or in-line pull only.
Double Eye Turnbuckle Styles
When it comes to choosing a turnbuckle, there are several important factors to consider. These include construction material, eye type, and the manufacturer.
Construction Material
We offer two primary options: stainless steel and galvanized. Both offer strength and corrosion-resistance, but if you are working in a marine or other high-moisture environment, stainless steel is the way to go.
Eye Type
Almost all of these turnbuckles have elongated end fittings on each end for less component stress and for easier connection of other rigging hardware. The only exception is our stainless eye & eye option.
In most cases, you will want to choose a style with elongated eyes, unless your application makes that impossible.
Manufacturer
Depending on your application and budget, the manufacturer may or may not be a primary consideration for you. We offer a multiple options, ranging from USA-made Crosby® turnbuckles to more cost-effective solutions.
Van Beest
Van Beest eye and eye turnbuckles are a high-quality, European-made rigging product that meets all industry standards. It's a brand that's trusted by riggers internationally.
Crosby
Crosby® eye and eye turnbuckles are another high-quality option that are made here in the USA. They're extensively tested for strength and durability, making them the primary choice for many in the rigging industry.
Crosby turnbuckles meet or exceed all ASME B30.26 requirements and are fatigue-rated for a longer lifespan.
Industry Compliance
All of our galvanized turnbuckles meet USA federal specifications for safety, including the performance requirements of ASTM F-1145 (formerly Federal Specification FF-T-791).
Our stainless steel turnbuckles meet the requirements of ASTM specification F1145-92 Type 1, Class H.
