Crosby HG-226 Turnbuckles
Crosby® builds quality into every turnbuckle, and these eye and eye HG-226 turnbuckles are no exception. Designed to bring reliability and consistency to even the most demanding jobs, they help to ensure a safe and efficient worksite.
Crosby Eye and Eye Turnbuckle Construction
Eye & eye models feature eye end fittings that have been Quenched and Tempered® or normalized to strengthen and harden the steel. The eyes are forged and elongated to make for easy attachment in tensioning systems, as well as to minimize eye stress. They have modified UNJ threading and, for turnbuckle sizes 1/4" through 2-1/2", shackles one size smaller can be threaded through the eye.
The turnbuckle bodies are heat-treated by normalizing, with UNC threading. Corrosion-protection is added to all components with a hot-dip galvanized finish.
All turnbuckles are clearly marked with the Crosby® logo, size, and Product Identification Code (PIC) for traceability.
Fatigue-Rated
Crosby HG-226 turnbuckles are also Fatigue Rated®. This means they've been tested to a minimum standard of 20,000 cycles at 1-1/2 times the working load limit, and will meet the requirements of the Euronorm standards for fatigue.
Proof load is 2-1/2 times the working load limit. Ultimate load is 5 times the working load limit.
Meets Industry Standards
Crosby eye and eye turnbuckles meet or exceed relevant industry requirements to ensure safety and superior performance:
- ASME B30.26
- Federal Specifications FF-T-791b, Type 1, Form 1, Class 4
- ASTM F-1145
They've also addressed other critical performance requirements not addressed by industry standards, including fatigue life and material traceability.
NOTE: Turnbuckles are recommended for in-line or straight pull applications only.
