Smooth surface is resistant to unraveling, twisting, and abrasions, while also offering excellent handling and strength. Nylon creates elasticity under load so it can absorb shock loads that might break other types of rope. Will absorb water which can cause it to lose about 10-15% loss of strength, which returns once dry. Won't rot, mildew, or react to gas, oil, alkalies, or marine growth. Diamond braid ropes tend to be a little more flat compared to other braided constructions, and makes it good for a variety of applications from anchor and mooring lines to using with pulleys.
