Description
18 Ton Crosby Wide Body Shackles
The primary benefit of choosing a G-2160 wide body shackle is the increased bow radius. With at least a 58% increase in sling-bearing surface, the usable sling strength improves by a minimum of 15%! This design also eliminates the need for a thimble. Forged alloy steel components are quenched and tempered for superior strength and the hot dip galvanized finish offers protection from corrosion.

G-2160 Bolt Type Shackle Testing & Certification
These wide body shackles undergo rigorous testing to ensure they can perform. The bolt and bow are certified to meet Charpy impact testing of 42 Joules (31 ft-lb) min. avg. at -4°F (-20°C), and each shackle is individually proof-tested and magnetic-particle inspected. If you need certification for these, please request this when you place your order.
Additionally, Crosby sling shackles have DNV Type Approval to Rules for Certification of Lifting Appliances and are produced in accordance with DNV MSA requirements.
