5/8" Chain Binders
When using ratchet binders, it's important to ensure compatibility and proper load handling. Pay close attention to the working load limit (WLL) of both the binder and the chain. Using a binder with a lower WLL than the chain will reduce the overall capacity of the tie-down system. Here are some key points to remember:
- Ensure Compatibility: Verify that the chain diameter fits within the range specified for the ratchet binder.
- Match the WLL: The tie-down assembly is only as strong as its weakest link, so the WLL of the binder and chain should be equal to maintain the assembly's strength.
- Inspect Regularly: Check both the binder and the chain for signs of wear, damage, or corrosion to ensure they remain in good condition.
- Know the Grades: Understand the different chain grades (e.g., Grade 30, Grade 43, Grade 80, Grade 100) and their corresponding strengths.
By following these guidelines, you can maintain the safety and effectiveness of your tie-down assembly.
Clevis Grab Hooks
5/8" Clevis Grab Hooks are made from Alloy Steel and come in both Grade 80 and Grade 100 options. While both the G80 and G100 5/8" chain hook fittings are similar in shape and size the key differences are found in the abrasion resistance and the WLL when paired with similar grade chain. The Grade 100 option is more dominant in both respects. All of our 5/8" clevis hooks are embossed with the size and the grade to meet DOT requirements and for stress-free inspections.
