Grade 70 chain - also known as transport chain - is the most popular tie down chain option. 20% stronger than grade 43 chain, it is more durable for stabilizing large loads and is well-suited for most cargo securement jobs where chain is used.
Constructed using high-strength carbon steel, this chain is heat-treated and strength-tested to ensure superior quality and performance. It has a yellow zinc chromate finish that conforms to ATSM B633 Type II for corrosion protection and quick identification as a grade 70 tie down chain.
The hooks are made from forged carbon steel with a non-cradle design that allows them to fit through a flatbed trailer rub rail for quick yet secure connections. The shallow throat opening lets you easily connect to chain, and the clevis fastener means you can replace damaged hooks with little hassle.
Note: Grade 70 chain is not approved for overhead lifting.
All of our tie down chain is DOT compliant and meets or exceeds FMCSA CFR49 Section 393.104 and NACM Welded Steel Chain Specifications. The hooks are embossed with the size and the grade, and the chain has grade embossing on the links. This ensures you can quickly identify the chain you need, and that inspections are stress-free.
