Shoulder Lag Eye Bolts are a common piece of rigging hardware and are well suited for applications where the base material is thick enough that using a traditional eye bolt is impractical for length. Typically installed into wood, this style lag eye screw is suitable for angular lifting and loading due to the shoulder design of the lag bolt. The shoulders help maintain the strength of the eye and the shank from bending or deforming. It's important to remember that loading at an angle will significantly reduce a bolt's rated capacity. Never load at an angle less than 45 degrees from the bolt centerline.
These stainless steel shoulder lag eye bolts are made from Type 316 stainless steel. T316 stainless steel is considered "marine grade" and contains molybdenum, which makes it resistant to ocean water mist or spray, so it's especially useful in extreme conditions or moisture or a high chloride environment.
Size: 1/4" X 2-5/16" Stainless Steel Shoulder Lag Eye Bolt. Also available in the following sizes: 5/16" X 3-3/16", 3/8" X 4", and 1/2" X 4-3/4".
