Synthetic Sling Protection
Sling protection for web slings is an incredibly important component of your lifting setup. According to the ASME (B30.9 (2021) 9-5.10.4(d)):
"Slings in contact with edges, corners, protrusions, or abrasive surfaces shall be protected with a material of sufficient strength, thickness, and construction to prevent damage."
This includes lift points and even load edges that could be above the hookup points.
Protection Options
Depending on your application, you can choose from several different levels of protection, including abrasion-resistance and cut-resistance.
CornerMax®
CornerMax® sleeves are cut-resistant and can be used on curved loads.
They have a protection rating of 25,000 lbs. per inch of sling contact IF full 90 degree contact is made with two surfaces (12,500 lbs. per inch on the separate contact points).

LiftGuard
LiftGuard web sling protectors are made from high-performance cast nylon. They attach to your load using recessed magnets, and offer a WLL of 12,500 lbs. per inch of web sling when there is full contact with both vertical and horizontal inside surfaces.
Both the medium-duty and heavy-duty styles can by used with synthetic slings, but in most cases, the medium-duty should be sufficient. The extra strength provided by the heavy-duty option helps them to withstand wire rope and chain sling damage.
